Same Room...Two Different Styles...

After finishing my previous project called Pebble House, where I designed my dream vacation house I wanted to do something a little bit different. I wanted to see if I could push myself and come up with two completely different design ideas while keeping the same space.

I went to my Cohoom.com profile and I started with a standard floorplan. creating the same floorplan of a bedroom with an en suite and a storage/walk-in wardrobe.

After going through some ideas I decided that for the first room I was going to create a space with minimal space with some scandi accents and the second room was going to be more on the maximalistic side.

First thing first was getting the mood-boards right. Starting with the first room, I wanted to make sure that I was able to capture the essence of the materials and the relationship between the shapes and the materials.

For the second room, and since maximalism can feel a bit chaotic at times, I wanted to create a mood-board that would work more as a "compatibility" reference for all the colours and textures I was planning to use and less as a strict point of reference.

It was at this point I realised that I had these two styles couldn't be more different.

So I started thinking about the main area of the space (the wall behind the bed and and the space around the windows). I then moved to the en-suite bathroom and finally finished the storage/study room.

Here's a collage of the 3D simulation images fore reference:

After finalising all the little details and rendering details I finally had a clear vision for both versions.

wow! Those are both really nice. I have to say I like the clean, minimalistic option. And I have to say in the bedroom that nice wood feels cozy like a cabin and much more homey. Very cool to see the differences! :)

This is so cool! I love the different views of the same room. I also love the top color in the first set. What is it called? (The grayish silver one)
